Over 140,000 AES Summons Have Been Issued Within Just Three Months For These Offences
It seems that we Malaysians have a lot of excess money that we don’t mind ‘giving’ it away to the government.

It was a reported that a staggering total of over 140,000 motorists have been caught by the Automated Enforcement System cameras (AES) for various offences in the past three months! Walaoweh, that many for such a short amount of time, eh?

142,135 summons were issued ever since the Automated Awareness Safety System (Awas) was implemented on 15 April.

The summons were issued for various offences. The offence with the highest amount of summons – 129,781 were issued for speeding while the 12,354 were for those who beat the red lights.

The summons issued range from RM150 to RM300.

So far, there are a total of 21 AES cameras throughout Malaysia; eight in Perak, three in Kuala Lumpur, two in Putrajaya, Selangor, Johor, and Terengganu, and one in Kelantan and Kedah.

Awas also practises a demerit system and for those who accumulate the maximum amount of 20 points will be issued a warning letter or even worse, getting your license suspended or revoked.

So folks, before you think you’re Vin Diesel or an extra for Fast and Furious while driving on the highway, think again about the amount of money you’re about to pay for your summonses.
